When Poison’s Talk Dirty To Me first hit radio it immediately turned heads. The power pop glam metal mastery of it was undeniable. For a brief period in time that song was everywhere and fans ate it up leading to the band’s first Top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100. Ultimately their debut album the single was taken from would go onto become the biggest selling in Enigma Records history being certified triple platinum for sales of more than 3 million units by the RIAA. The album’s title Look What The Cat Dragged In fit perfectly to describe the raw sounds from the gutter being brought to life in all its pop metal glory.
The single artwork represents everything the band was about in 1986. It mixes elements of their 70’s Glam Rock influences with their street tough attitude. The image of each band member pouting & posing in a pink & black backdrop really made the image pop. Helping the song to become one of the band’s signature tunes still heard on the radio today.
