When you think of iconic 80s movies, Footloose stands out. Inspired by real events in Elmore City, Oklahoma, where dancing was banned for over 80 years, students fought back in 1980, leading to a transformative prom.
Everybody cut footloose, kick off your Sunday shoes. Footloose is a musical drama (loosely) based on a very weird true story. It tells the story of Ren McCormack (Kevin Bacon), a teenager from Chicago who moves to a small town, where he attempts to overturn the ban on dancing instituted by the efforts of a local minister.
