So today at the local annual Seafood festival down here was not as fun as yesterday, mainly due to the overnight downpour ⛈️
So if you read my last coupla emails, you’ll know we are gearing up for the annual Seafood festival down here. Now all the streets are covered
Remember I was telling you about my buddy Brett that I went to the beach with on Sunday? I saw him again today at the store.
“Fifteen miles to the, love shack….” bet you are singing already. The B52’s are a southern, New Wave group with a unique sound and a skill for creating some of the most catchy song lyrics of all time. Their trash-culture influences from the 50’s, call-and-response-singing style, and unusual guitar tunings combine to make a trademark style that stands the B-52s out from the rest of the pack. They are a unique, ahead-of-their-time new wave band just doing their own thing – and The B52’s have completed their farewell tour. Their unique “thrift shop chic” stylings and hippie vibes are captured perfectly on these funky graphic B52s T-Shirts, with a vintage style to look like they came from the ’70s.
These vintage rockers brought together quirky energy and unforgettable style that made them stand out in the ’80s. You had Fred Schneider’s distinctive, wild vocals leading the charge, mixing in a bit of spoken word with some serious attitude. Then there was Cindy Wilson and Kate Pierson, the dynamic duo of harmony and eccentricity, each bringing their own unique flair to the band’s sound. Their harmonies were like nothing else in the scene—catchy, bold, and unforgettable. On bass, you had the groovy, steady presence of Keith Strickland, and on drums, the powerhouse performance of Sterling Campbell kept everything tight. This lineup was pure fun, full of weirdness and personality, blending surf rock, new wave, and a whole lot of funky, colorful energy into a sound that was impossible to ignore. The B-52’s weren’t just a band—they were a party you couldn’t resist.
The B-52’s music is like an instant ticket to a wild, funky party where the weirdest things happen and you’re loving every second of it. They blended rock, new wave, and a splash of surf music with those infectious, quirky beats that just made you want to move. Tracks like “Love Shack” and “Roam” are pure joy, packed with catchy hooks and melodies that get stuck in your head for days. But it wasn’t just about the danceable rhythms and unforgettable choruses—it was the band’s attitude. Their vibe was unapologetically fun, the B-52’s made music that felt like a celebration. Their sound was never conventional, and that’s what made it so unique—eccentric, energetic, and impossible to ignore.
