Motorhead girl

Rock Brand or Fashion Icon... seriously

I know that people have been wearing rock band tees as fashion since the start of… well rock bands! Why do we care about Motorhead? Because they are different! Buckle up, because we’re diving headfirst into Motorhead Mania. Back when everyone else was playing it kinda safe with their logo tees (think The Ramones shield, or the Stones tongue, or electrical AC/DC – Motorhead came in hot with their gritty, rebellious designs that just hit different. Think about it, they wore shirts with a big snarling war pig… it’s different! Motorhead Snaggletooth T-shirts is what I mean obvi!

The iconic ‘Snaggletooth’ logo, created by Joe Petagno for their debut album, became more than just album art—it was a badge of honor for fans. It was like a symbol of living loud and unapologetic, and you’d see those shirts everywhere, long before Instagram influencers were even a thing.

Remember, back in those NWOBHM bands Motorhead wasn’t just a band—they were a movement. Remember, in the “pre-streaming” days, you have to work to get peoples attention, and only a handful of really talented bands could. They weren’t out here selling shirts for the sake of it; they were selling rebellion. Their music was an all-out attack, and, intentional or not, their merch matched that same energy. Those tees weren’t just clothing; they were a way for fans to declare their individuality, to show they were part of something bigger. It wasn’t about just liking their music, it was about belonging—about embracing that raw, untamed energy that made Motorhead, well, Motorhead.

Have you noticed that today’s fashion trends STILL includes band tees from that era? Back in the ’80s and ’90s, Motorhead showed us how to do it right—bold, brash, and impossible to ignore. Fashion could use a little more of that attitude today. So, throw on that old, faded Motorhead tee and crank up the volume. Here’s to the music brand that kicked down the door, shook up the music world, and made it a hell of a lot more interesting – by wearing a pig face! In a world where everyone’s trying to blend in, it’s time to hit the gas and go full throttle like Motorhead did.

Keep it loud,

Sam
