Why July 4th is important to me

I’m a big believer in tradition and keeping it going. Especially when it comes to July 4th 🇺🇸. The reason is because I wasn’t born American, but I am now, so it was always my American dream.

That being said, my Grandma was a fiery New Yorker and Grandad was a US World War 2 veteran. They inspired my traditions, in fact, they enforced them while they were alive.

So my childhood July 4th’s were always outdoors, with barbeques, burnt burgers 🍔, cool beer and all my cousins came over and we hung out. Somehow, things changed and families moved on. But my traditions remain solid. What American traditions are important to you ?
