Surreal Miami problem! My Venezuelan landlord hired a Cuban handyman to fix the air conditioning. He speaks no English and my Spanish is kinda nada!
Picture the scene, broken AC in apartment, 88 degrees in Miami, I’m dripping in sweat trying to answer the Cuban handyman’s questions. No Bueno! It’s a bit frustrating that my High School Spanish 101 isn’t really helping, although I’m pretty sure he’s saying that it’s broken anyway!
He left, came back 8 hours later (yes 10pm) with a new AC unit! And just like magic, I have cool air again!
