The legendary Lemmy and his Motörhead band are considered the very beginning of the wave of British heavy metal in the 70’s. Motörhead were a power trio always featuring Lemmy, and though several guitarists and drummers have played in the line-up, most of their best-selling albums and singles feature drummer Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor and guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke. Motörhead released 23 studio albums, 10 live recordings, 12 compilation albums and five EPs over a career spanning 40 years. Lemmy always said that the band are more than Rock n’ Roll but also encompass Punk, Rock and Heavy Metal and he always sang about important themes.
